Ran Kirlian releases with Oöphoi & Jaja

Two new collaborative releases from Ran Kirlian are now available: The Physics of Heaven, with italian ambient master Oöphoi and Cosmos Vol. I with german based electronic alchemist Jaja:

The Physics of Heaven is a collaborative work with italian ambient master Oöphoi (Gianluigi Gasparetti). It is a bright and ethereal jouney that explores the transition between life and death thru different spiritual traditions and mythologies.

Sadly Oöphoi passed away last week, so this albums also acts a personal tribute from Ran to the awesome work of the artist that was both a friend and a mentor to a lot of us, ambient lovers.

Cosmos is the first collaborative work between Ran Kirlian and the german based electronic ambient composer Jaja (Jana Rockstroh).
When Ran Kirlian and Jaja meet first time in 2012 they recognized the same deep bond about space and music. They immediately thought of doing a collaborative work to share their visions and to bring out the best of their both worlds. What followed was a fulminant adventure and a truly colorful journey into deep space territories, a powerful flow of pure space-ambient music based on improvisations on synthesizers.
The result of this work is a bast and poweful flow of pure space-ambient music based on improvisations. It is also the first album on a series of electronic space-ambient dedicated to the magnificence of the Universe and the figure of one of its biggest explorers: Carl Sagan.

Landru - Scotoma

Scotoma is without any doubt, the darkest ambient album released by Landru so far. Scotoma is full of intriguing noises and background drones capable of creating an enigmatic and invisible atmosphere that surrounds the listener from the very beginning as an intense and dense fog that remains present throughout the whole album. During this journey to the dark side of the vision, you may also find some groovy percussions and rhythmical patterns which add some light into this otherwise impassable landscapes.

Among the sonic sources used during the composition, you may find all kind of digital and software synthesizers and also some experimental and organic sounds coming from innovative instruments and field recordings such as the Kurzweil K2000 VX, Access Virus Redback, Quasimidi The Raven & Polymorph, Korg Legacy Analog & Digital Edition, Absynth and Sonic Forest.



All music were composed, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Landru at Atavachron Studios, Barcelona, during 2012.

Max Corbacho - The Ocean Inside

The Ocean Inside is the long awaited new album of Max Corbacho presents an immersive flow of emotional soundworlds and harmonic structures that bring us to the depths of the inner ocean.
Max Corbacho returns with a new work, this time as a long awaited double album, which again immerse ourselves into touching atmospheric ambient realms of pure beauty. More than two years ago I started this project from a Eastern concept that has always been present in my work: the analogy that exists between the mind as an ocean, with constantly changing waves at the surface, and the inner stillness and silence at the depths. It is from this seed that brings me to the concept of "Oceanic", the word from which I have been developed each of the parts that make up the album. During the creation of these pieces, I tried to go as deep as I could into this bottomless ocean depths. The Ocean Inside is the record of that dive into the depths, the witness that what matters is not how deep you can go, if not the experience of that moment.

Mindglide - Down the Light

Spanish ambient label Altera Orbe recently released Down the Light, a gorgeous space ambient work full of nostalgic and beautiful melodies surrounded by a complex universe of synthetic sounds created by Mindglide. This is the first album by thespanish ambient artist, which was recorded back in 2007 and now remastered and rebuilt for this new digital release.

In Mindglide's words:

Down the light is my first electronic music album, a work free of all standards and prejudices, an intimate feeling converted in to the music that approaches me to the cosmos, my  primal roots. It is inspired by the contemplation of landscapes where light writes the history of the universe throughout its existence, traveling in all directions through space and time and showing us the great spectacle of creation. A landscape of infinite magnificence, where everything is part of life.

Mindglide is the electronic musical project behind Rafael De Julián, an independent artist born in Valencia, Spain, with a deep influence from  electronic music, progressive rock and jazz. He started studying and creating music in the early 90’s attracted by synthesis and sequencing as a way of composing and developing his ideas with the main objective of evoking rich and deep feelings onto listeners.

Ran Kirlian - Formations and Mystical Veils

Ran Kirlian released his latest album Formations, a masterwork that combines space and tribal ambient based on live improvisations.

This album defines a journey to the core of Ran Kirlian's tribal-ambient landscapes prevously visited on albums like Sleeper, Melting Point and Limbo. With a continuous flow of expansive and complex soundscapes accompanied by subtle melodies and tribal grooves, this album conforms an excellent immersive process in to the electro-acoustic tribal flavours of Ran Kirlian musical career.

Most of the music of  Formations is based on live improvisations subjected to a large evolutionary process, including the high privilege of counting with the ambient master Max Corbacho on the final mastering process.

The track of the next video, Aerthanna, is one of the pieces included in Formations, the new album of Ran Kirlian. The video version, published in september 2009, is a live improvissation and is mostly the same version included in the album, capturing the fresh and primordial essence of a raw creative process.

Formations is now available at Altera Orbe in CDr (limited edition), FLAC and MP3 formats. Also, as a special offer until November 5, the purchase of Formations comes with the mini-album Mystical Veils (Woomh Series 1), the first volume in the Woomh Series. It is an EP that collects 3 electronic pieces recorded live in 2009 in a different style Ran Kirlian music uses to be, with pulsating sequences and textures, a bit away from classical ambient genres.

Vauxia Errante - Cambrian Spirits

"We're happy to present a new signing artist in our label, Vauxia Errante, which will release a truly awesome album named Cambrian Spirits: a dark and deep subterranean-ambient full of evolving drones, complex textures and ritualistic flavours.

Mostly based on drone and dark-ambient genres, his creative process combines electronic music, voices and field recordings in a deconstructive research and development. Darkness, cavernous and underground are words that usually comes to mind after listening to Vauxia Errante textures and sonic experiments.

Landru - Fimbria

Landru has just released Fimbria, his second ambient album on the netlabel Altera Orbe.

Fimbria is the latest exploration of Landru into ambient realms, a step forward into complex textures and vibrating grooves from a very personal perspective. The tracks collected in this album presents a priscine production and a deep development on te creation of textures, loops and unique sounds, intrinsic factors in the music of Landru.

Beyond that, Fimbria represents the fragile equilibrium between the most intriguing and dark sequences and the sublime light coming from cinematic pads arising from background subterranean drones. Ran Kirlian - Apeiron

Apeiron is a Greek word meaning unlimited, infinite, or indefinite. It is also the title of a track included in Continuum, the latest album by Ran Kirlian.

Continuum marks the return of Ran Kirlian to space ambient atmospheres and ethereal soundscapes, collecting music recorded from 2005 to 2010 and finally mixed and mastered during 2011.
